Secondary Maths and Science jobs

We are seeking Maths and Science Secondary School teachers for jobs starting in September 2019 at the beginning of the academic year in the UK. The school is in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England.  This town in a 70-minute direct train from the centre of London, and is a highly desirable area to live. 

The school is a co-educational grammar school, there is a county-wide selection to secondary school at 11+ and there are 13 grammar schools within the county, five of which are co-educational. The schools’ intake is drawn from a very wide geographical area; the majority of students come from the Chiltern and South Bucks area of Buckinghamshire.

  • Courtesy should be the hallmark of all transactions at school – between pupils and their peer group and between pupils and staff. In addition, the unique relationship of pupils and teachers should be informed by the natural authority of the teacher; whilst respect should be accorded both ways, the pupil’s attitude should be governed by the traditional deference that is appropriate to that relationship.
  • Pupils should remember that the environment is for the benefit of all and that it is their duty to take care with resources, the classrooms and the grounds.  Litter and damage affect the community, so all pupils should challenge anti-social behaviour of this sort.
  • Pupils, as members of the school, should show involvement in at least one extra-curricular activity.  They should display loyalty and enthusiasm for their House and team.
  • Uniform should be smart, the dress code adhered to, and pride taken in belonging to the school.

In the sixth form, the progress of the great majority of students is excellent, and GCE AS-level and A-level results are consistently high in comparison with national averages and are why the sixth form is outstanding. These outstanding achievements are a direct result of teachers striving to obtain the best from every student together with confident, accurate, high quality teaching and strong pastoral support. The most able students do exceptionally well and there are Oxbridge entries every year.”
