Subjects to Teach in the UK
Are you considering teaching in the UK?

We have created an easy to digest summary of what to expect if you are planning to teach Early Years (EYFS), Primary, SEN and each of the secondary specialisms taught in schools across the UK. There is also information on Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor roles.
We also have included links to the British National Curriculum and general information on how your teaching subject is taught in the UK.
Here are some things you will be happy to know about teaching in the UK as an overseas teacher:
- The British National Curriculum is very similar to Australia, Canadian and New Zealand frameworks, so that makes things relatively easy for these teachers to work in British schools.
- UK schools love Aussie, NZ and Canadian teachers because we are adaptable and have strong foundational skills from our training.
- We offer lots of support for overseas teachers wanting to transition to the working in the UK and teaching in the state, faith or independent systems in England.
- We also make sure all the teachers we help to secure jobs, are assigned a UK Consultant and an in-school Mentor teacher to help with the transition.
- We also hold Induction and Networking events for teachers to gain information and meet other international educators.
