Our Networking Events
Teach in is committed to creating a community for the overseas teachers we support. We know what it is like to arrive in a country and not know anyone or only a couple of people.
We also know how important it is for teachers to have a support network. It is the kind of work that can be physically and mentally draining at times and having teaching buddies can make a tough day manageable.
We are teachers who have lived and worked in the UK, so we understand that international teachers arriving in the UK need a few key things to transition successfully into their school and their environment.
We provide the following:
A UK Consultant:
You will have had a local consultant assigned to you when you registered with Teach in. When you are in the UK, you will also have a UK Consultant who you will meet on arrival and who will continue to check in with you and sort out any issues throughout your time overseas.
A UK Induction Invitation:
The first event you will attend happens just before you start your new role. Our Induction event is a day of fast-tracked sessions to get you familiar with our company, and all the things you need to know about teaching expectations and practices in British schools. You will also get to meet other teachers starting at the same time as you, and there will be some time to eat and socialise.
Networking Events:
At the end of each term, we organised a Networking Event which is open to all other international teachers from places like Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa. It is the perfect opportunity to meet and then reconnect with other teachers working in schools across the country. We have London meet up and then regional events in locations like Manchester. Have some drinks and food on us in a pub setting and discuss you travel plans, challenges and wins! Lots of our teachers end up travelling and socialising regularly together and lots of staff will be at these events if you have questions and want to chat about your next career move. Caring for, and listening to our teachers is at the heart of what we do every day. We’d love to help you find a great job in the UK and welcome you into our Teach in community.
