Teaching Assistant Job Description (UK)

A Teaching Assistant (TA) supports teachers in the classroom to help pupils learn and thrive, particularly those who need additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and curriculum tasks
  • Working one-on-one or with small groups, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Preferred (but not always essential):
